Hi Stephanie,
We are the parents of Lincoln. He is now past one year old, and we love him dearly.
Linda and I had wondered about a companion dog for Lincoln.
The question in my mind is compatibility of two dogs, perhaps same breed.
As a therapy dog, Lincoln has been a great asset to my restored health.
Lincoln is very energetic and I wonder if a companion dog would work out.
If so, would another male dog be better than a female, or does it matter?
Any information would be most helpful.
Best, Dave Mason
Great hearing from you. A companion for Lincoln would be ideal for wearing him out around the house and keeping him good company. I know a lot of people that have males tend to stick with getting a second male however, some people do mix sexes especially if they’re male is very dominant, and have one of each. I would think Lincoln would do great with either sex as I am sure he is a docile dog, sweet and fun loving.
Now you just need to make sure you are up for the challenge before a new addition. I think Lincoln is at a great age, where he can teach the new one the rules and be a great role model for his new sibling. I do have a 1/2 brother available and he is almost 12 weeks so he can already sleep through the night and can go longer without going to the bathroom which could be a bonus for you and Linda. If you would like to meet him give a call.
