Info About Schnockerpoos

If you love the Cockapoo and Schnoodle breed, you will absolutely love Schnockerpoos! This is a great combination of these two hybrid breeds put into one pup to make the most happy, social puppies. These puppies tails will never stop wagging. You will get a very therapeutic companion that will love everybody. Our Schnockerpoos are created from our best F1 miniature Cockapoos bred to our prize parti, mega coated, miniature schnauzer, Loki. Health and temperament is our number one priority. We carefully select good quality and amazing-tempered parents. This pairing of a cockapoo to a pure bred schnauzer makes a coat that is hypoallergenic and non-shedding. We love the health benefits of mixing in new bloodlines to create hybrid vigor, which results in a healthier, more vigorous puppy, with a reduced chance of genetic disease. Pure breds often carry genetic diseases. This increased health and vigor does not create a superior breed, but the advantages obtained from it are what produce hybrid vigor. The goal in this scenario is not to create a new breed, but to create a happy and healthy pet for you to enjoy for years to come.

Description and Appearance

Schnockerpoos are highly intelligent from the Poodle, they get their sturdiness from the Cocker Spaniel, and are very loyal from the Schnauzer. They will have a beautiful, full, wavy, doodle coat. Most people with allergies to other dogs find that they can tolerate a Schnockerpoo with minimum or no discomfort. Schnockerpoos come in a variety of solid colors, parti-colors”two colors”, phantom, sable, brindle and merle.

Size Range

Size can be influenced by either parent’s recent background. Our Schnockerpoos will be fairly small in size and are considered miniature. To give a general idea of weight, a Toy would ideally weigh less than 12 pounds, a Miniature 13-20 pounds and a Standard 21 pounds and up. Here at SilverBell Doodles our Schnockerpoos will be on the smaller end of a miniature.

Schnockerpoo Temperament

The Schnockerpoo is known for its wonderful disposition, high intelligence and curiosity, devoted loyalty, as well as for the hypoallergenic characteristics of little to no dander, shedding or odor. Schnockerpoos are also easily trained and have an amazingly forgiving nature which makes them amazing with children of all ages. Schnockerpoos are very people oriented, outgoing, playful and happy dogs. Their playful personality appeals to young and old alike. They are as much at home in an apartment, or on the biggest farm. They are extremely easy to train to just about any situation. This size that we breed also does well for traveling. They are small enough to take on as a carry-on when flying.

Health

Although there is no proven research, Schnockerpoos are quite healthy benefiting from gene mixing and avoiding many of the hereditary health problems Cocker Spaniels, Poodles and Schnauzers are known to have. As a result of the hybrid vigor, Schnockerpoo can live up to 15 years with good health.

It’s also important that you keep up with ear health, as with any of our doodle breeds. Ears should be kept clean and dry, as any of our long-eared dogs, they can be prone to ear infections/yeast overgrowth.

Exercise & Grooming

The schnockerpoo is a happy-go-lucky dog that loves to run and play with his family. No yard is fine, but a daily walk is recommended or a good game or fetch/tug-a-war for exercise is needed for this dog to stay mentally and physically healthy.

Schnockerpoo do require regular grooming. They should be trimmed every 8-12 weeks to keep the hair from matting. Regular brushing will keep the coat clean and tangle free.

If you choose a Schnockerpoo, you will have a partner for the rest of their life!!!
